And why you shouldn't care

People who are too young to remember or too crazy to care—are using a name and social construct to thrust authoritarian insanity upon members of that society. I consider myself a member of that society, a society based on equality, a society of like minded people who wanted to fight back against those in authority, those in power.

I am offended by these people, their ideals make me sick. It is also their disingenuous claim of a label I used to respect and love, that too drives me toward anger. I am offended by the hypersensitivity that exists everywhere, by the binary split between those who are, and those who are not. A split so contrasting, so sharp, and so brutal—that members of the aforunmentioned society can be ostracized and belittled into hiding if they fail to conform. I am offended by conformity itself, and adherence to the authoritarian ideology. I am offended by your taking offense at such slight differences.

I don’t preach tolerance—or even egalitarianism. I don’t speak from a place of equality, nor as your better, or even your inferior. I do not exist along that axis upon which your society is perched. I am other, and being other, my biases fall upon a different axes. My otherness probably offends you, but you shouldn’t be offended. After all, I am something other, something outside of your quaint and modern world view. Yet though I am other, I belong to that society and fight for the same ideals it once held. I care, and so I am offended by the shame and humiliation brought to it by those who have been allowed to take power.

Once it had been a fight, a struggle for freedom, a struggle for rights. Once the gap between each end of the axis had been as vast as the gulf between the stars. Now as the two end’s approach singularity, as the fight becomes a question of balance more than struggle—fools have come to power to humiliate those who have fought for a century to live in a society as equals. You fool, who take it all for granted, you who live in a society so close to equal that you have to invent offenses simply to have a “them” to gather against and claim yourselves “us”. You who shame your elders, and eject anyone with even the slightest hint of dissension…

Grow the fuck up and learn some perspective.
